A few days ago, we started Mondrem’s fourth year with a move to Keele University’s brand new Smart Innovation Hub co-located with the University’s business school. We’re surrounded by ambitious, innovative young businesses and sector-leading academics and students and the energy is palpable. It’s a great place to support us as we grow and we’re delighted to be here.
First in the plan is building a prototype of our new collaborative and transparent way of operating the planning applications process. It’s designed to deliver the pace and certainty that developers need, the openness that local people want and the funds, people and new technology that help councils to enable good development, deliver a great customer experience and build the trust of local people.
In the new year, we become a not-for-profit community interest company, better reflecting our motivations and values. As part of that change, we will be raising funds and recruiting volunteers to help fight climate change by planting trees – Mondrem is also the name of a forest area in Cheshire.
